About Jim Coarse Wedding Photography
I grew up in West Grove, Pennsylvania in a family where memories were made on film. It was no surprise I was given my first Fisher-Price 110 camera at the age of 5. After my first dark room experience at the age of 16, I never turned back. Graduating with honors from the University of the Arts in Center City Philadelphia Pennsylvania, I’ve continued to put my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography to use photographing and assisting local, regional and beach weddings in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey since 2007. I’ve helped make memories in shooting over 100 weddings!
In addition to wedding and engagement photography, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to expand into other commercial photography markets including travel marketing, thoroughbred race horses, food, products and real estate. I have been commissioned to photograph everything from CEO’s, internationally published magazines to concerts and was the Official photographer of the 2012 Fair Hill Thoroughbred Horse Show. As an active photographer in the Chester County community, I have taught courses at local libraries and the Southern Chester County (Jennersville) YMCA. For fun, I continue to be the family photographer documenting my daughters, nieces, pets and travels. My iPhone and Instagram have helped fuel my passion for sharing my photography on a daily basis.
Outside of photographing weddings, I have another degree in Web Development and I am a full-time SEO Specialist, Front End Developer and Web Maintenance Manager in Wilmington Delaware. I have even been seen photographing conferences and manning video cameras at concerts and music videos.
My time-off is spent sailing the Chesapeake Bay, kayaking the local water-ways, hiking the beautiful mountains of Vermont, exploring the National Parks of Utah and island-hopping the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
Photography is my passion
… and I love every aspect of it. From my collection of vintage cameras, to various books of artists I constantly reference. I even keep a bag of film (all well past expiration date) in my freezer from those rare occasions that I pull out my film cameras and experiment around.
My experience speaks for itself and work has no limits. I like to be on the cutting edge of photography and experiment with new techniques, processes, software and apps! I have primarily shot Nikon Pro Series FX (Full-frame) gear since 2007 and am constantly upgrading to stay ahead of the curve.
